Overview
ifok coordinates the implementation of the “Plattform Industrie 4.0”, a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The initiative supports the implementation of Industry 4.0 in the German economy through a dialogue between all relevant stakeholder groups, including representatives from politics, trade unions, and academia. Through this dialogue, key stakeholders develop tangible, goal-oriented recommendations for implementation that address what policymakers, academia, businesses, and trade unions must do to establish Industry 4.0 in Germany and thus further expand Germany’s performance and international competitiveness. The platform addresses a range of topics surrounding the digitalization of industry, from security by design to training programs. It connects diverse Industry 4.0 solutions and drives international collaboration forward; joint projects are developed with the Industrial Internet Consortium (USA) and a close collaboration has been launched between France and Germany.
